My bags are packed, I'm ready to go!

After speaking with Alicia on Friday night, it really hit me: Celeste may be born any day now! Am I ready for her arrival? Now, please don't misunderstand me, I'm not talking about emotional readiness, what I'm talking about here, is being actually ready to fly cross country, dress her, wrap her in a blanket, etc. The answer was NO!!! My bags weren't packed and I still didn't finish doing all the baby laundry. So, that is what I did on Friday night -- I washed every piece of baby clothing that I hadn't washed thus far, and I packed my bags. At the end, I had 2 large bags, a stroller and a car seat with a base. For the first time ever, I started questioning if we haven't exceeded the maximum airline allowance for baggage (We normally travel ultra-light, and don't check bags unless we're going skiing).

On Saturday night, I once again heard how excited my mom and mother-in-law are, and how willing they are to help! They both offered to fly to California with us, but instead we're going to save their help for when we come back home, as I'll have plenty of experienced helping hands in CA.

The last step was to figure out what the flight schedules are like, in case we need to change our airline tickets at the last moment. Depending on the day of the week, there are 3-4 direct flights each day, from Newark to San Diego. As of right now, our tickets are for the night of November 8, but that's all subject to change.

So now we wait! :)
