Almost 37 week appt

My doctor was totally booked up this week and won't be in next week, so I had to see someone different today.

Grrrr, he was an @$$.

First, I was weighed, lost three pounds since Friday. The blood pressure machine tried 4 times to get a reading on both of my arms on two different machines, finally she manually did it, and said my blood pressure was low. Then my temp was low, 96.5.

They take me to a room, he comes in and asks me how I am... I say so so. That I had contracted all night long. He said well that was reason to not feel great. He measured my belly still measuring the same as Friday 35 1/2 weeks. Pushed and prodded, he was not gentle in the slightest, said baby is head down, back on the right, with legs on the left. Then he listened to her heartbeat. I could tell right away it was faster than usual. He listened to it for quite some time, I never had a doctor listen for so long. So then he asks was she active in the last few minutes, I said No, she actually has been quite still today. So he listens for another minute or two and says well I think she was active in the last few minutes and that is why her heartrate is fast. Did you not just hear ME?!!?

So he sits me up and says do you have any questions? Well, what about my blood pressure?!? Well, just eat and drink he says. Then I mentioned being checked today, and he says well there is no reason to check you right now. I said well he checked me last week, I'm a surrogate, and we are trying to just have a heads up to what is going on so the parents can make it, they don't live here. Well, I see no reason to check you, until around 38/39 weeks unless something is going on (I guess me telling him I contracted all night long when he first walked in the room wasn't reason to check me). Okay my doctor is probably the oldest OB at the hospital, has the most experience and has been there the longest, and he checked me last week at 35 wks 6 dys but now this idiot refuses to check me.

So, I left there pretty ticked. A waste of my time. Low blood pressure, baby with a fast heartbeat, low temp, lost three pounds.... hmmm?!?

And since my doctor is out all next week, and no other doctor has anything available, I don't go back til Monday November 5th, but thank goodness it will be with my regular doctor.

What a great appt, not. :(
